Dusseldorf Ford Europe faces new sweeping job cuts. As the US group announced on Tuesday in Cologne, a total of 3,800 jobs are to be cut at various European Ford locations over the next three years. That is around eleven percent of the current 34,000 employees at the European subsidiary of the US car company.

The German Ford subsidiary has been hit harder than average by the automaker’s new savings plans. In Germany, around 2,300 jobs are to be removed from the job plan by the end of 2025. That is around twelve percent of the approximately 19,000 Ford employees in Germany.

In addition to Germany, Ford Europe also wants to save in Great Britain. Around 1,300 jobs are to be cut there over the next few years. Another 200 jobs at smaller European Ford locations are also part of the new savings program.

The development departments are mainly affected by the job cuts. In addition, savings should also be made in administration.
