“Finding one with the reputation is difficult”

Walldorf It is a turning point for the Dax group SAP: Hasso Plattner, one of the five co-founders and chairman of the supervisory board since 2003, will give up his office next year. After a “structured handover process”, Punit Renjen, who was global head of the consulting firm Deloitte until the end of 2022, is to take over the task.

Renjen brought Deloitte “incredibly forward”, Plattner praised in an interview with the Handelsblatt: “It’s difficult to find a candidate with that kind of reputation and knowledge of the market.” The consulting firm’s revenue grew from $35 billion to $59 billion during Renjen’s seven-year tenure.

The manager was meanwhile responsible for SAP at Deloitte, emphasizes Plattner. “He knows 80 percent of what we do: selling, advising, successfully implementing customer projects – only Deloitte didn’t develop the software themselves, they obtained it from us.”
