Federal government stops further Chinese takeover after Elmos

Berlin After stopping the takeover of the chip production of the Dortmund company Elmos to a Chinese company, the federal government prohibited another China deal. As the Handelsblatt learned from government circles, the Federal Ministry of Economics, headed by Robert Habeck (Greens), wants to propose to the Federal Cabinet at its meeting today that the acquisition of the Bavaria-based company ERS Electronic be prohibited by a Chinese investor.

ERS Electronic is a global semiconductor equipment company that produces “high precision” temperature solutions for semiconductor customers. In addition to the headquarters in Germering near Munich, the company also has sales offices and agencies in Shanghai and Dallas.
