Berlin According to a survey, the FDP gained slightly among its voters in the week of its party congress. In the Sunday trend survey, which the opinion research institute Insa collects weekly on behalf of “Bild am Sonntag”, the Free Democrats came to nine percent this week, which is one percentage point more than in the previous week.

This confirms the latest trend, according to which the party in the federal government is stable between seven and eight percent in polls. But the next test is imminent: on May 14th there will be a general election in Bremen.

In the Hanseatic city, the Liberals traditionally do not play a major role. If they miss the return to parliament, the pity would be great again. Recently, however, the FDP made up two points in polls for the Bremen election and is currently at six percent and thus at the level of the 2019 election result. The governing SPD comes to 31 percent, its coalition partners Green and Left Party to 17 percent and seven percent, respectively. the CDU to 28 percent.

The Union also gained one point in the Insa survey for the federal election compared to the previous week and came to 28 percent this week after slipping by just that percentage point in the previous week. It is exactly the other way around with the SPD: the Social Democrats lost a point and ended up with 20 percent. The Greens, who were at 16 percent two weeks ago, remain at 15 percent.

The AfD was able to maintain its value of 16 percent from the two previous weeks, the left loses a point and would slip back below the five percent hurdle with four percent, as it did two weeks ago. The other parties could unite eight percent of the votes. A total of 1,202 people were asked, among other things, who they would vote for if there were federal elections next Sunday.

When asked who is most likely to set the tone in government, 40 percent named the Greens, 27 percent the SPD and only 14 percent the FDP.
