Essen, Bottrop Hubert Schulte-Kemper (76) once dared to build on the moon. Now he has failed in the Ruhr area. Fakt AG, founded by Schulte-Kemper in 2010 as a holding company for “lucrative real estate projects, renewable energies and other financial investments”, has filed for insolvency, according to information from the Handelsblatt and the Correctiv research center. The responsible district court in Essen has now confirmed this.
“The news of the insolvency of Fakt AG reached us yesterday,” confirmed the Mayor of Bottrop, Bernd Tischler. Fakt AG acquired the Hansa shopping center in downtown Bottrop in 2019. Tischler: “We now have to assume that Fakt AG’s big plans to revitalize the Hansa-Center will vanish into thin air.”
