Prosecutors have accused the Facebook founder of being directly involved in decisions in the Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal.

san francisco The lawsuit that the Attorney General of Washington DC filed against Mark Zuckerberg last Monday is a good 30 pages long. Shortly thereafter, his life’s work lost around 35 billion dollars in market value. The shares of the Facebook mother Meta fell by more than nine percent.

The lawsuit and the profit warning from competitor Snap probably scared investors. The recent slump is just one of many problems for the company. On the stock exchange, Meta’s market cap has halved since peaking in September.

With the lawsuit, the US authorities are increasing the pressure on the Facebook founder and the meta group he manages. “Zuckerberg personally played a role in Facebook’s failure to protect user privacy and data,” said prosecutor Karl Racine.
