Berlin, Warsaw Russian crude oil is still flowing into Schwedt in Brandenburg. That should be over by the end of the month. The federal government has stipulated that no more oil from Russia may come to Germany from the turn of the year. With its refinery in Schwedt, the joint venture PCK is the last remaining delivery point in Germany for Russian oil.

Forgoing this from January poses major challenges for the location, which is important for security of supply. What happens next in Schwedt depends primarily on replacement deliveries from Poland. The federal government has been struggling with the Polish government for months to find a solution.
