Expert expects millions of refugees in winter

Berlin Mr. Knaus, because of the war in Ukraine you fear a historic winter of displacement. What do we have to adjust to?
A historically large number of people have already moved from Ukraine to the European Union. Four million Ukrainians have applied for temporary protection. Now Putin threatens to drive millions of people to flee again through terror, the destruction of cities and the energy infrastructure. A third of the energy infrastructure in Ukraine was destroyed in a few weeks. We must therefore reckon with the fact that millions more could flee to the EU this winter if it becomes unbearable in their homeland. Neither the EU nor Germany is prepared for such a winter of displacement.
