Frankfurt Eventim shares have fallen more than 14 percent since Monday. The paper was quoted at around 62 euros on Tuesday – at the beginning of the trading week the share was worth more than 70 euros. Recently it even looked like Eventim was heading for a new record high.

What happened? On Friday evening, ZDF satirist Jan Böhmermann addressed the company in his program “ZDF Magazin Royale”. Eventim did not fare well on the show entitled “With fantasy fees to the event empire”.

Böhmermann criticized, among other things, the market power and the fee policy of the company. The moderator complained that Eventim would sometimes charge fees twice and also earn money on the black market using other platforms instead of fighting it. The stock then plummeted when markets reopened on Monday morning.
