Dusseldorf Hardly any other diplomat in Germany is as well connected globally as Wolfgang Ischinger. Hardly anyone knows the international trouble spots as well from his own experience as the former head of the Munich Security Conference.
In an interview with the Handelsblatt, the former US ambassador is almost euphoric about the midterm elections in the USA, which are a clear sign of life from the American center after many years of radicalization. Ischinger views the situation in Europe, which is still not capable of global politics, with great skepticism.
