The term “easily changeable” according to the legislation; This means that it can be repaired without the need for special tools, thermal energy or solvents.
According to the statement from the parliament, this directive was prepared with the sustainability field in mind. The aim is to enable users to easily replace their batteries. In addition to replaceable batteries, it is aimed to recycle the batteries used in electric cars.

Among the new targets set by the EU are the collection of waste portable batteries of 45 percent by 2023, 63 percent by 2027 and 73 percent by 2030. Legislation; It also targets special recoveries for materials such as lithium, cobalt, copper and lead.
On the other hand, manufacturers need to be more transparent and detailed about the battery. Accordingly, in technological tools; Labels and QR codes displaying capacity, performance, durability, chemical composition and the “recyclable” symbol will be featured.
