The US government is resorting to an unfriendly way to prevent rising gas prices. According to a statement made by the White House today, the USA has approved a fuel type called E15, which is many times more polluted than regular gasoline. This statement has been the focus of controversy.
The Environmental Protection Agency has asked the United States to reconsider the decision. Emphasizing that it will increase the already existing air pollution with great momentum, the institution takes action for the banned E15 gas in many parts of the world. The Environmental Protection Agency will hold an emergency meeting for necessary measures.
E15 fuel contains over 15 percent ethanol. So much ethanol carries a great risk for the atmosphere. In addition, excess ethanol pollution can create great dangers by reacting with sunlight. On the other hand, there is an ethanol amount of 9 percent in normal gasoline. At this point, many people have different opinions.
There is a significant audience that argues that E15 is not as environmentally friendly as stated. So much so that the advocates think that E15, which has a little bit of ethanol today, where gasoline seems ordinary, will not make much difference. They also think that it should be preferred because it is quite affordable in terms of cost.
The E15 is currently used in a few parts of the USA. Attempts were made to spread fuel throughout the Trump era, but a federal court blocked this attempt. It remains to be seen what the court’s stance will be under the Biden administration.
