End of the road for YouTube Stories!

YouTube has been offering the YouTube Stories feature for a while, which automatically disappears 7 days after content creators share it. This feature, which worked just like the Instagram Stories feature, offered a different alternative to content producers. However, it seems that the end of the road has come for this feature, which is not very popular.

End of the road for YouTube Stories

YouTube will officially discontinue the Stories feature on June 26. From this date, creators will no longer be able to post stories on their pages. All stories created before this date will remain on the profile for 7 days. However, as of Monday, July 3, there will be no stories on the YouTube platform.

YouTube has announced that with the removal of the Stories feature, they can focus on more popular new features. From now on, the company will focus specifically on its short video sharing feature, YouTube Shorts, and Community posts.

YouTube, one of the most important platforms in the world, follows a path that its users will not like when it comes to advertising.

YouTube announced that they said goodbye to the Stories feature with a statement on the community page. The post contains the following statements:

“There are many ways to create content on YouTube today, from Community posts to Shorts to long videos and live streams. Stories are being discontinued to prioritize these core features.”

Just as YouTube Shorts is the company’s answer to TikTok’s short-form video posts, YouTube Stories is the platform’s answer to Instagram’s popular Stories feature. YouTube Stories started rolling out to some creators in 2018 and officially became available in 2019.

This feature allowed creators with at least 10,000 subscribers to create temporary short compilations of videos that appeared on the subscribers homepage. But on YouTube, Stories has never really been a success, and the feature has come to an inevitable end.

YouTube plans to give more weight to its other services by removing the Stories feature. So what do you think about the YouTube Stories feature? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
