Twitter owner Elon Musk’s new AI company xAI will use Twitter posts to train its artificial intelligence models. This was announced by the Tesla and SpaceX boss on Friday in a Twitter Spaces audio chat.

xAI will also work with Tesla to develop the AI software. The cooperation between his companies benefits all parties and will accelerate the development of Tesla’s self-driving vehicles.

Musk previously accused other AI companies of illegally training their models with Twitter data. He also accused AI companies of developing artificial intelligence without taking into account the risks for humans.

The xAI chief also said he would advocate for regulation of artificial intelligence at a meeting with White House officials. At his recent meeting with high-ranking government officials in China, he also emphasized the importance of AI regulation.

Elon Musk announced the founding of xAI on Wednesday. “The goal of xAI is to understand the true nature of the universe,” the company’s website said. Musk will lead xAI.

According to the website, the team at the new AI company consists of engineers who have worked at companies such as Google, Microsoft and ChatGPT provider OpenAI. In April, Musk announced the launch of TruthGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) to counter Google’s Bard or Microsoft’s Bing AI. It should be a “maximum truth-seeking AI”.
