Responding to this call of the IMF El Salvador Chairman of the IMF, Nayip Bukele from bitcoin had refused the call to quit.

A Reaction To The IMF Also Came From The Treasury Minister Of El Salvador!

Finally, El Salvador’s Treasury Minister, Alejandro Zelaya, responded to the IMF’s call for Bitcoin.

Speaking on a local television channel, the Treasury Secretary reacted sharply to the IMF, saying that El Salvador would not stop supporting Bitcoin as a legal currency.

Zelaya continued his words by emphasizing that Bitcoin is a matter of “sovereignty” for El Salvador:

“No international organization can make us do anything.

Because countries are sovereign nations. In this context, countries make independent decisions about public policy on their own.”

The Treasury Secretary also added that El Salvador complies with all financial transaction and money laundering rules.

IMF’s Bitcoin Alert!

In its report published last week, the IMF highlighted the risks posed by El Salvador’s adoption of Bitcoin as a legal currency.

The IMF had urged El Salvador to narrow the scope of Bitcoin law by removing Bitcoin’s legal currency status.

However, this call of the IMF was not enough to stop El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele. Because Bukele announced a few days ago that he thinks the price of Bitcoin will rise “much more”.
