Alibaba Group President Michael Evans announced that they plan to invest 2 billion dollars in Turkey in the coming period. Evans made this statement after meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin.
During the meeting, Michael Evans gave information about his investment plans in Turkey and emphasized Alibaba’s trust in Turkey. Stating that they have invested 1.4 billion dollars in Turkey to date through Trendyol, Evans stated that Turkey has the potential to become a leading e-export country worldwide. Alibaba Group President also stated that they plan to invest an additional 2 billion dollars in Turkey in the coming period.
Alibaba manager stated that they closely follow TEKNOFEST, Turkey’s first and only aviation, space and technology festival sponsored by Trendyol. Evans underlined that this organization shows the importance of Turkey in the field of technology. Evans, who was previously an Olympic athlete, stated that they closely followed the worldwide success of the National Women’s Volleyball Team and were pleased with the support Trendyol gave to sports and athletes.
