DWS exchanges CEO after suspected greenwashing

Frankfurt Only a few hours after the raid because of “greenwashing” allegations, the Deutsche Bank fund subsidiary DWS separated from its boss Asoka Wöhrmann. Stefan Hoops will become the new CEO at the end of the day of this year’s Annual General Meeting, DWS announced in a mandatory announcement on Wednesday night.

Hoops was appointed by the shareholders’ meeting as a member and chairman of the management board with effect from June 9, 2022 and is thus retiring from his role as head of Deutsche Bank’s corporate bank. Wöhrmann resigned his mandate with effect from the end of the day of this year’s Annual General Meeting.

“I have always put my heart and soul into working for the benefit of DWS. Of course, this has been particularly true since my return to the top of the company in 2018,” Wöhrmann said in a statement. After the three most successful years in the company’s history, DWS is clearly more profitable and stable.
