Domestic and national electric SUV BMC Tulga!

As part of Teknofest 2023, the events ended last Monday. In addition to many competitions and award ceremonies, defense industry companies took their place in the field with Solo Türk, Turkish Stars and Gendarmerie Aviation shows. One of the stands opened in the foyer area belonged to BMC. In addition to bringing Teknofest visitors together with the local and national Altay Tank, BMC also gave some good news. Here are the details about BMC Tulga…

It will be a Turkish made Hummer! BMC Tulga

According to the special news of Murat Makas from TGRT, many brands took part in the Teknofest event where local technologies were exhibited. While many companies from automotive to agriculture, from aviation to defense industry showed up at the stands, HürJet and MMU KAAN, which belong to TAI, showed themselves for the first time by making public press.

Of course, new gospels were also given. Especially ROKETSAN and BMC were among the companies that came with the most new news at the festival. BMC Chief Executive Officer Murat Yalçıntaş, on the other hand, talked about the ALTAY Tank in general, but also talked about Tulga, which was developed with domestic and national resources.

As you may recall, BMC unveiled an armored pick-up model in 2019. This prototype, named Tulga, was an off-road vehicle to be produced for the Turkish Armed Forces inventory. Although his name was not mentioned much in the intervening 4 years, BMC broke this silence at Teknofest. Again, a domestic and national electric SUV to be produced under the name Tulga was mentioned. It is also among the information that the tests of the vehicle are over and mass production will be started in 1.5-2 months.

Yalçıntaş: We were going to announce it in 1 month!

Yalçıntaş, who stated that, “Actually, we were going to give the news of the new Tulga SUV model 1 month after the event,” gave technical information about the vehicle as well as that the tests of the vehicle will be completed in 1.5-2 months.

Normally, the first prototypes produced showed that Tulga would appear as a pick-up model. However, according to information from Yalçıntaş, the vehicle will be an SUV model. Other details and images of the vehicle are expected to be shared in the coming days. There is no information on whether the vehicle can be used only for military purposes or for civilian purposes.
