Hamburg Men and women have been manufacturing electronic components in Lokstedt for 99 years. Few other chip factories can look back on such a long history. Nevertheless, it is completely open whether there will be something to celebrate in the Hamburg district in the anniversary year 2024.
Nexperia, which has owned the traditional factory for several years, is increasingly distrustful, as the management has now publicly complained about in the Handelsblatt for the first time. “The question is: Do they want to actively discriminate against us?” asks Chief Operating Officer Achim Kempe.
The semiconductor manufacturer from Nijmegen in the Netherlands has been criticized for its owner. It belongs to the Chinese technology group Wingtech, which in turn has ties to the Chinese state.
