Disclosed State Secrets In Exchange For Cryptocurrency!

There were events in the US Navy that did not look like a scene from military spy movies.

A US Navy nuclear engineer and his wife were caught by the FBI while trying to sell the design of a nuclear submarine to a foreign government for $100,000 in cryptocurrency.

An engineer with access to military secrets is betrayed when he hands over the design of the American nuclear submarines to an FBI agent who he thinks is a foreign government representative, but who is actually undercover.

42-year-old nuclear engineer Jonathan Toebbe, with the help of his 45-year-old wife, Diana, has been selling hidden secrets for almost a year.

According to a statement from the FBI, Jonathan Toebbe became suspicious of Toebbe in April 2020, when he noticed a package containing classified information to a foreign government and a note on it promising to leak further data.

Realizing the situation, the FBI contacted Toebbe through the secret agent and began to correspond with Toebbe via an encrypted e-mail account.

The FBI agent paid the Toebbe couple in three parts totaling $100,000 worth of cryptocurrencies.

The engineer and his wife were arrested for violating the Atomic Energy Act in West Virginia, where they arrived for the third scheduled interview by the FBI and the Marine Crime Investigation Service (NCIS). The couple will appear in federal court on Tuesday.
