15 Jamie To Claire In Season 1 Of Outlander:
“I Wake Up Every Day And Find That I Love You More Than I Did The Day Before.”
Before they became one of the best couples on Outlander, it took Claire and Jamie a while to adjust to one another. Not only did fans see them clash over their opposing beliefs but their stubborn attitudes also saw them argue over the slightest things. However, they soon found themselves naturally gravitating towards one another after they bonded over several events and similar life experiences.
After that, it wasn’t long before Jamie revealed that he was falling in love with her a bit more every day. This was quite a significant milestone in their journey as this love confession was the first time he had ever said it to her. Jamie Fraser can make anyone swoon. But he takes it to a whole other level when he calls Claire “Sassenach” in his own loving way.
Add to that this gorgeous quote from Drums of Autumn where Jamie bares his heart and soul to Claire once again, and in such a poetic way. The way he makes Claire feel as though she is the only woman in the world and that he will never love another the way he loves her leaves fans awestruck.
13 Jamie To Claire In The Outlander Book:
“Ye Werena The First Lass I Kissed, […] But I Swear You’ll Be The Last.”
This quote from Jamie was packed with deep meaning when he said it to Claire in the first Outlander book. Going into their impromptu marriage, Claire knew Jamie was a virgin, while he knew she was not.
When they first kiss, though, she asks him where he learned to kiss like that. He replies, “I said I was a virgin…not a monk.” Although Jamie may have had prior experience kissing other women, this quote he says to Claire proved that he only wanted to kiss her for the rest of his days. And he had every intention of upholding that promise.
12 Jamie To Claire In The Fiery Cross Book:
“I Always Wake When You Do, Sassenach; I Sleep Ill Without Ye By My Side.”
Jamie and Claire are connected in ways that only soulmates can be. And for Jamie, he cannot live properly without knowing his Sassenach is okay. This includes when she is unable to sleep as Jamie insists that he cannot stay in bed if she is not by his side, as proven by this quote from The Fiery Cross.
He would rather wake with her and be next to her in her time of need than go on sleeping by himself. It is a tremendously sweet and romantic gesture from the fans’ favorite Highlander so it’s no surprise that Claire is madly in love with the Scot.
11 Jamie To Claire In Season 4 Of Outlander:
“She Smiles In Her Sleep, As You Say I Do […] She Is A Gift From Me To You And From You To Me.”
Although Jamie and Brianna didn’t meet until she was in her 20s, it didn’t take long before the father and daughter were able to strike a bond. For Jamie, this was something that he had dreamed about as he had worried that she wouldn’t want him after she formed a strong relationship with Frank.
Therefore, when Brianna was later asleep, fans could see that Jamie was so overcome with love for Claire and their family. It was quite sweet that he believed Brianna was one of the most precious “gifts” Claire had ever given him and that he was thoroughly enjoying their time together. By the look on Claire’s face, she thought it was very endearing too.
10 Jamie To Claire In Season 1 Of Outlander:
“I’ll Never Forget When I Came Out Of The Church And Saw You For The First Time. It Was As If I Stepped Outside On A Cloudy Day And The Sun Came Out.”
While Claire and Jamie’s marriage might have started out as one of convenience, it did create a change in their dynamic. Jamie did reveal in “The Wedding” that his perception of her had changed once he saw her come out of the church – like he saw her in a different light and realized that he might be attracted to her.
It’s quite a sweet way of showing Claire that he might want to pursue something romantic with her and it doesn’t go unnoticed that this night led to some of their first and most intimate conversations. It was certainly one of Jamie’s most iconic scenes that many Outlander fans remember fondly.

“I’ve Only Known One Love In My Life. And That Was With You.”
After it was discovered that Jamie had married Laoghaire when he and Claire had been separated, there had been a period of time where Claire had questioned whether they belonged together (“First Wife”). Since Jamie had always been kind to Laoghaire in the past, Claire had been worried that Jamie had fallen in love again while they were living together.
It didn’t take long for Jamie to reassure her that he hadn’t because, for him, there had only ever been Claire. No matter how many “romantic” relationships Jamie found himself in over the years, he was unable to replicate that connection with anyone else. For Jamie, this kind of groundbreaking love only came around once in a lifetime so it’s no wonder he was quick to reassure her.
8 Jamie To Claire In The Fiery Cross Book:
“When The Day Shall Come That We Do Part, If My Last Words Are Not ‘I Love You’ — Ye’ll Ken It Was Because I Didna Have Time.”
This quote is enough to make any fan tear up just from reading it as it was uttered by Jamie at the end of The Fiery Cross.
The fact that he is more concerned about telling Claire he loves her one more time than the fact he is meeting his ultimate demise, if that were to occur, is outrageously romantic and tearjerking – especially considering that they were so often in fear for their lives. The man sure has a way with words.
7 Jamie To Claire In Season 2 Of Outlander:
“But I’ll Find You. If I Have To Endure 200 Years Of Purgatory, 200 Years Without You, Then That Is My Punishment.”
There have been plenty of heartbreaking moments in Outlander, but one that always brings a tear to the eyes of the fans is their farewell in “Dragonfly In Amber.” Here, Jamie tried his best to convince Claire to go back to the twentieth century in order to protect her and their baby.
While many fans were devastated that Jamie could die in the Battle of Culloden, they thought that it was quite sweet of how Jamie tried to comfort Claire. Like many of the other Outlander fans, he believed that Claire was his soulmate and they would meet again one day. Even if she decided to reconcile with Frank after he died, he would still wait for her because he believed their love would transcend space and time. It’s probably one of the reasons Jamie actually made it out of Culloden alive.

Shortly after Jamie and Claire are married and they have become intimate with one another, Jamie feels like he cannot stand to keep his hands off Claire. He is so infatuated and attracted to her — not to mention he has growing feelings for her romantically — that all he can think about is being with her.
While it is apparent at this point in both the books and the television show that there is a lot of lustful thoughts going on between Jamie and Claire, it is also becoming clear at this point that there is a great love story beginning between these two.

Is there anything more romantic than the feeling of being in an equal partnership with the person you love? Jamie Fraser seems to be in a group of his own with how forward-thinking he was in the 18th-century, especially in terms of his marriage to Claire.
When he tells Claire that they possess each other’s souls and therefore will always be the one for the other, it was a deep and meaningful moment for the two of them. The emotionally-charged scene showed the true connection that they have and that their bond was only growing deeper every single day that passed.
4 Jamie To Claire In The Outlander Book:
“Don’t Be Afraid. There’s The Two Of Us Now.”
This quote beautifully embodies the way their relationship always should be. When Jamie and Claire are with each other, the rest of the world doesn’t matter, nor does any of the drama that is coming their way.
Jamie tells Claire that in this moment, she does not need to be afraid, because it is only the two of them. The great thing about Jamie and Claire is their love has survived insurmountable odds, and this quote shows that when they are together, they can face anything. It is a gorgeous sentiment from Jamie that proves he is one of the most romantic fictional men to ever exist.

While many fans had been delighted to see Claire and Jamie reunite in season 3, it wasn’t long before things took a serious turn and they began talking about the effects their separation had on each other. This was particularly seen in “First Wife,” when Jamie spoke to Claire about how he felt without her by his side.
Although many people will agree that it is quite heartbreaking to hear how much pain Jamie was in, some fans might also be able to register the romantic undertones to what he was saying. Since Claire was his “heart,” Jamie was essentially saying that he was incomplete without her – that he was unable to live his life properly because she wasn’t by his side. Jamie’s love for Claire had always been one thing that helped him to keep going.

Once Claire and Jamie finally reunited during the third book in the Outlander series, Voyager, they picked up right where they left off. Their chemistry and love were just as palpable as the last time they had seen one another.
While with Claire, Jamie told her just how much he felt like himself when he was in her presence, there, in the dark. It made readers see how deep their love ran and that the comfort they felt when with one another was incomparable. 1 Jamie To Fergus In Season 3 Of Outlander:
“You would move heaven and earth. You would risk arrest and death. Until you’ve risk all, you cannot speak of love.”
Although Fergus and Jamie have one of the most endearing relationships in Outlander, there have been a few occasions where the two haven’t seen eye to eye. One of these moments arrived in the season 3 episode “Heaven and Earth” when Jamie and Fergus argue about the meaning of love after the latter refused to rescue Claire from the British soldiers.
It shouldn’t have really astonished fans to see how deep Jamie’s love for Claire ran, but considering they had spent 20 years apart, it appeared that it had only grown stronger with time. For Jamie, risking his life for Claire was nothing because she had been the most important thing in the world for him. She fought so hard for them to be together again and Jamie would certainly refuse to allow anything to split them up again.
