Among the various One Piece announcements from One Piece Day 2023, one of the most notable ones was that the anime would be receiving its first new ending theme in over a decade. While anime usually always have some sort of opening and ending theme, following the use of its 18th ending theme, “Adventure World” by Delicatessen in 2006, One Piece became the only anime to not feature an ending theme, the anime opting to have longer opening themes, instead. There’s never been an exact reason for why the anime has done this, but for well over a decade, it’s become one of the signature traits of the anime.
