A Grammy award is one of the highest achievements in music

How can I watch the 2022 Grammy Awards ceremony?

Due to the recent surge in Omicron Covid-19 cases worldwide, the 2022 Grammy Awards was postponed.

“After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual Grammy Awards show,” the Recording Academy said in a statement on January 5, 2022.

“The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority.

“Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating ‘Music’s Biggest Night’ on a future date, which will be announced soon.”

The Recording Academy and CBS have announced that the Grammy Awards will be postponed from its initial January 31, 2022 airdate.

“It’s been a year of unprecedented, transformational change for the Recording Academy, and I’m immensely proud to be able to continue our journey of growth with these latest updates to our Awards process,” said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr.

“This is a new Academy, one that is driven to action and that has doubled down on the commitment to meeting the needs of the music community.”

On Tuesday, January 18, it was announced the Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, April 3 at 8pm ET. Comedian Trevor Noah will host.

Changes to the 64th annual Grammys include the absence of nominations review committees, a smaller number of categories voters may vote in, and two craft fields as opposed to the six of prior years: production and presentation.

The award event has been postponed for the second year in a row. The Covid-19 pandemic also hampered last year’s event, although the rescheduled date was one of the earliest restorations to an in-person format.
