Bob Saget death updates – Wife Kelly Rizzo attends funeral for Full House star along with close family and friends

BOB Saget’s loved ones said goodbye to the star during a private ceremony Friday, as his cause of death is still yet to be confirmed.

The comedian’s Full House co-stars John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were in attendance, as was Saget’s good friend John Mayer.

The fan-favorite actor, best known for his character Danny Tanner in the show Full House, was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida.

Saget was found by hotel security who then put in a call around 4pm to the sheriff and fire department. According to TMZ, authorities now believe that his cause of his death could be a heart attack or stroke.

That report has yet to be confirmed by a medical report.

It comes as his loved ones are holding a private funeral service on Friday.

Former co-star John Stamos tweeted on Friday morning: “Today will be the hardest day of my life.

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

  • Donations pour in

    After his sister’s death in 1994 to a rare autoimmune disease called scleroderma, Saget began raising money for research and advocating for a cure for the disease.

    He became a board member for the Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF).

    In the days following his death, SRF announced a $1.5 million dollar matching gift, in the form of a grant to match every donation made in honor of the late comic.

    Joanne Gold, the foundation’s executive director, spoke to CNN about the overwhelming support shown.

    “We’ve received donations from more than 1,500 donors from all over the world, totaling over $90k,” said Gold.

    In a 2016 interview with People, Saget called his daughters “the light of my life.”

  • Saget ‘found by housekeeping’

    Saget was reportedly found dead by hotel housekeeping on January 9 after he failed to checkout on time.

    The iconic actor and comic was found dead at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando, Florida, just hours after he performed at a stand-up show.

    Sources told PEOPLE that the room was neat, with no signs of trauma and that Saget’s bags were packed by the door when he was found dead.

    The housekeeping manager tried to perform CPR on him after calling 911, the outlet reported, but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

    The Sheriff’s Department and fire department responded to the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando at around 4pm after Saget was found in his room by hotel security.

    He was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Bob Saget had three children from his first marriage to his high school sweetheart, Sherri Kramer.

    The comedian had twins Aubrey and Lara Melanie, who were born in 1987.

    His youngest child, Jennifer Belle, was born in 1992.

    On Tuesday, Mary-Kate kept her head glued to her phone as she walked past on a cold day.

    In the wake of the devastating news, the Olsen twins, both 35, said they were “deeply saddened.”

    “Bob was the most loving, compassionate, and generous man,” they told Page Six.

    “We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has.”

    Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House, released a statement about Saget’s passing.

    The late-night host was pictured arriving at Bob Saget’s funeral on Friday.

    In his tribute to Bob, Jimmy Kimmel said the late actor was “so funny” – and he wasn’t just talking about the star’s credits like Full House or America’s Funniest Home Videos.

    “I mean funny for real, like when you walked into a party and you saw Bob and his wife Kelly [Rizzo] in the corner, you go straight to them and stay for as long as you could because he had something funny to say about everything and nothing bad to say about anyone,” he said.

  • Bob’s funeral was on Friday

    Bob’s widow Kelly Rizzo arrived early around 1pm at the service’s location in Los Angeles on Friday.

    More than a hundred guests followed, including comedian Mike Binder, close pals Jeffrey Ross and John Stamos and his wife.

    Marc Maron, Full House actress Candace Cameron and Judd Apatow, along with Jimmy Kimmel were also among the high-profile guests who attended the 2pm service.

    Before his death on Sunday, Bob Saget shared a message to his late sister via the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

    “Scleroderma Research Foundation board member @BobSaget remembers his sister on her birthday: ‘Today would have been my sister Gay’s 75th birthday,’” the SRF tweeted.

    “‘She lost her life to scleroderma at age 47. No one should have to suffer as Gay did, which is why I’m committed to finding a cure.’”

    Scleroderma is a group of rare diseases that directly affects the skin and connective tissues.

    The illness is more common in women than men and currently has no cure.

    Steve Harvey appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! following Saget’s untimely death.

    He revealed that the late comic had sent an email to Harvey just two days before his death.

    “He wanted me to come do this new podcast he had, man,” Harvey said about the email. “He really respected the moral stances that I take, he was just talking about all the good times that we’ve had.”

    Harvey’s staff read the email to him.

    “They read the email to me, so it was a little hard. He was a great dude.”

    Sweetin starred as middle daughter Stephanie Tanner on Full House alongside Saget.

    She took to Instagram to post a few photos and a tribute message to honor Saget’s passing.

    “There aren’t enough words to express what I’m feeling today. Nor are they big enough to capture even a slice of who he was,” her caption begins.

    “Bob was a wonderful human being.”

    “He was a genuinely kind spirit who made it through so much in his life, and was most happy when he was helping others.”

  • Who owns the Full House home?

    In 2016, Full House showrunner Jeff Franklin purchased the famous home featured in the sitcom.

    His original plans were reportedly to remodel the home into an exact replica of the set used throughout the series.

    Due to complaints from neighbors about the increase of tourism in the area, Franklin put the home up for sale.

    FOX11 reported that fans left flowers and took photos of the home on Broderick Street that was shown as the exterior of the Tanner’s home.
