The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom includes an armor system similar to its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, and Nintendo used this as a way to pay homage to previous games in the series. Although Link's classic outfits are available, BOTW and TOTK have plenty of armor pieces that reference other characters who have made appearances throughout the series, and even some variations of Link.
