Gamers have long complained about game companies adding anti-piracy software, Denuvo, to their PC games. Because Denuvo is a software that slows down games a lot and causes performance problems. Ubisoft quietly added Denuvo to its newest game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Denuvo was added to Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the first day update ‘unobtrusively’
Assassin’s Creed Mirage launched today for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The iPhone 15 Pro version will be released in early 2024.
There was no official statement from Ubisoft, but according to rumors, the game would use Denuvo, an anti-piracy software. However, the players still hoped that this would not happen.
As a matter of fact, the rumors turned out to be true and Ubisoft added the Denuvo software to Assassin’s Creed Mirage with the game’s first day patch. DRM technology has been a source of controversy since its launch, with some gamers reporting a negative impact on PC gaming performance.
However, after Denuvo was added to the game overnight, officials argued that the performance was exactly the same before and after the patch. Players are still outraged about this, though.
The addition of Denuvo to the game was not mentioned in the launch day title update announced by Ubisoft on Wednesday. Some people stated that this was obvious months ago. Others were angry, stating that Denuvo was not included in review copies of the game.

The release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage has changed. The production, which will focus on the story of Basim from Valhalla, is coming in October.
Title update 1.0.2 will be released today for all supported platforms. However, Ubisoft said on PC that the update was included in the 41.6 GB pre-release game files.
