Dax Dax extends losses

Frankfurt The recovery rally on the German stock market paused on Wednesday: After the Dax had already started trading in the red, it increased its losses as trading progressed. In the afternoon, the leading German index was 1.3 percent lower at 12,506 points. The leading euro zone index, the Euro Stoxx 50, is down almost 0.9 percent, while the MDax is down 1.8 percent.

Traders spoke of profit-taking. Because the stock exchanges in the USA and Europe had increased significantly on Monday and especially on Tuesday. The Dax closed 3.8 percent up at 12,670 points. In the previous week, the Dax had fallen to 11,862 points, its lowest level since November 2020.
