Dusseldorf The Dax defended the 16,000 point mark on Thursday and was slightly up at 16,124 points in the afternoon. On Wednesday, the Dax closed with gains of 1.5 percent. The closing price was 16,023 points, the high for the day was 16,044 points.
The surprisingly low inflation figures from the USA gave the leading index a significant plus – and they are still having an effect today. At 3.0 percent, the US inflation rate was much lower than expected. Within a few minutes of publication, the Dax rose by 80 points yesterday. The gains then continued.
