Dax course currently: Dax opens in the red

Frankfurt Good figures for industrial production in the euro zone stabilized the German stock market on Wednesday: After the leading index Dax was initially in the red, it turned positive in the further course of trading. It is 0.4 percent higher at 12,267 points in the early afternoon.

Eurostat announced on Wednesday that industrial production in the euro zone has recently developed positively. The companies produced 1.5 percent more in August than in the previous month. Experts had expected another decline. In July, the minus was 2.3 percent. This surprising positive news motivated investors.

The Eurostoxx 50, made up of the large listed companies in the euro area, is also stable. On Wednesday afternoon it recorded a plus of 0.5 percent. The MDax for medium-sized German companies is almost unchanged at 22,168 points.

On Tuesday, the Dax closed 0.4 percent lower at 12,220 points. The price gains from the first strong days of October have largely been wiped out.
