Dax continues to rise – but investors should expect a breather

Dusseldorf The upward trend continues on the German stock market. The Dax climbed 0.5 percent to 14,297 points in the first hour of trading. The daily high is 14,311 points. The leading index was already up 0.6 percent on Friday and closed at 14,224 points.

An increase of 2500 points or 17 percent since the end of September, including 700 points since Thursday afternoon. The Dax has climbed for six weeks in a row, most recently by 5.5 percent. These developments show that the leading German index is extremely overbought, i.e. it has risen too high too quickly.

The probability that there will be a breather this trading week is correspondingly high. For the capital market expert Thomas Altmann from the investment house QC Partners, “the air is getting thinner”. After the impressive jump in the price, interest in buying has decreased significantly.
