Danger of ObjCShellz virus on LinkedIn for Mac users!

Hackers have now started to carry out virus attacks on LinkedIn. Accordingly, the ObjCShellz virus, which targets Mac users, selects its victims through the world’s largest job search platform. This new virus, discovered by Microsoft, was developed by BlueNoroff, affiliated with the North Korean government. But what kind of a threat does the ObjCShellz virus pose to Mac users?

What threat does the ObjCShellz virus pose to Mac users?

BlueNoroff, one of North Korea’s two most dangerous hacker groups, threatens Mac computers with the ObjCShellz virus. In fact, computer viruses are generally developed for Windows-based computers. The aim of the pirates here is to infect more people with the virus. However, ObjCShellz is aimed at professionals using Macs. We say professionals because hackers choose victims by sending them attractive job offers.

Hackers have currently targeted experts with experience in cryptocurrency. In this sense, attackers who send a special personal skills test to the victim are actually directing the victim to a fake site that installs the ObjCShellz virus. As soon as the victim clicks on the link sent via LinkedIn, if his computer is a Mac, he falls into the virus trap.

The ObjCShellz virus was developed specifically for macOS and opens a backdoor on the system. Hackers can remotely control your Mac computer through this backdoor. The virus, which does not let its victim know that it is inside, copies personal data and sends it to the remote computer.

Apple stopped developing iOS 18 a while ago. New reports showed that Apple was working on the “most ambitious” update.

The BlueNoroff hacker group selects victims mainly from North America and Western Europe. The virus works not only on Intel-based Mac models but also on models with new ARM processors.

So far, Apple has not taken any action against this trojan. The virus can also bypass general virus scans and Trojan horse scans. However, it is possible to detect ObjCShellz virus in deep scans. Apple is expected to close this security vulnerability with an update soon.

North Korean hackers such as Lazarus and the BlueNoroff hacker group have been targeting cryptocurrency exchanges and banks in recent years. Accordingly, 2 billion dollars were transferred to the North Korean government in this way in two years.
