We talked to Renault Mais Turkey General Manager Berk Çağdaş at the event Dacia held in France. Cagda announced Dacia’s targets in Turkey.

Dacia, the manufacturer of some of the best-selling car models in Turkey, was presented to the European press in Paris, France last week. innovations introduced. This event was followed by a group of journalists from Turkey, including us.

Dacia’s 2022 Manifesto meeting, which we followed with the world press, was held in a magnificent hall. The brand whose logo has been changed, It listed all the models that will be released from 2023. Accordingly, the new Dacia Jogger, which will hit the roads of Turkey in November this year, will be followed by the 100% electric Spring. The year 2023 will be Dacia’s attack year in itself. Dacia, which is preparing for an ambitious 2023 in the world, announced that it has raised the bar in Turkey as well. We also made an important interview about the current situation and future of Dacia Turkey.

Dacia Turkey’s target is the top 5%! Here is our interview with Renault General Manager:

Berk Çağdaş, General Manager of Renault Mais, answered our questions at Dacia’s press conference in Paris. Cagdas shared Dacia Turkey’s 2022 and 2023 goals as follows:

“As Dacia, we had better expectations for 2022 as Mais. We also made a more positive budget for 2022. Then the Ukraine-Russia problem arose. The supply issue also came up. There was already a jeep crisis. We felt advantageous because we were producing domestically and the weight of sales of those products was higher in our total sales. Especially logistics problems and shortage of raw materials affected the whole sector. We showed a serious performance as Renault and Dacia in Turkey. As of the end of August, we sold 58,500 Renault and 23,700 Dacia. You know, Dacia is just a passenger car, we don’t have a commercial vehicle. 52 thousand of Renault’s are passenger cars. Therefore, we have come to this day with 88 thousand units.

After that, we reach our year-end targets at Dacia. market share was around 5%. As of August, we passed this market share. The problem is, we are trying to satisfy an existing demand with the limited supply we have. First of all, we try to meet the retail demand on the dealer side, then the corporate demand, the fleet and large fleet demands. The priority is always on the dealer side, namely retail. With the sales we made this year and the sales we plan to make next year, we will pass 500 thousand as Dacia in Turkey. It is important for us to reach a market where 500 thousand vehicles have been sold in approximately 10 years. I personally believe very much in this Dacia brand. As Oyak, we believe as a group. Because we offer vehicles that are highly compatible with Turkey’s purchasing power, standard of living and family life, with a cost-benefit ratio. Can you say something is missing for the Duster model? Now, with the Dacia Spring, it set off with the motto that everyone should be able to access and drive an electric vehicle. Dacia Spring, which we plan to launch in the first quarter of 2023, will come to Turkey with its big engine. I expect a great deal of interest on both the individual and rental side. I am particularly interested in the younger generation.

I do not know how much Dacia Spring will be supplied to Turkey. But a seller, a distributor in Turkey, a manufacturer like us, who dominate the B and C segments and is the market leader, should have a 20-25 percent fleet target. A fleet is not a vehicle without sale. Even if you calculate the fleet rate as 25 percent, the share of Dacia is about 25-30 percent. Of course, we are Renault-dominated there. We can say that Dacia Spring will constitute most of it.

Dacia 2023 target will certainly be to continue this year’s success. So we’re in the top 7. Being 6th or 5th would be a success for me. I believe we will be. Duster will be refreshed. Model and product are changing. Dacia offers all kinds of vehicles to anyone who appeals to the user group that puts mobility at the forefront. I trust the brand a lot. It will continue to do so in 2023. Under normal circumstances, it should be one of the top brands, in the current trend… I believe that.”

“First the customer will be satisfied, then the dealer”

“First, the customer will be satisfied, secondly, the dealer will be satisfied, and thirdly, your employee will be happy. This is the business discipline that I have been trying to establish for 6 years. My social media is open to the client. Anyone can reach me. I’m looking for myself if needed. It is very important to trust the customer.

Dacia customer profile, we have a customer profile that fits perfectly with young employees, women, B segment and C segment, which we call the middle segment in Turkey. We are targeting the young population in Spring. Our goal is for newly graduated, newly married couples…”

Turkey, with 169 thousand units as of the end of August 2022 as the fourth country with the most Duster sales in the world. draws attention. Stating that Dacia offers unique, durable, multi-purpose and environmentally friendly vehicles that are compatible with the lifestyles of its customers, MAİS A.Ş. General Manager Berk Çağdaş made the following statement about the position of the company:

“Constantly updating the features that should really be in a car with developing technology, Dacia responds to the needs of its customers as a price-performance brand that offers smart solutions. Its renewed product range and MANIFESTO concept car, together with its new brand identity, is an indication of Dacia’s adventurous spirit. As of the end of August 2022 As Dacia Turkey, we are the seventh brand in total, the sixth in the passenger car market, and the second best-selling brand among imported brands with a 5.2 percent market share and 23,861 sales. The best-selling imported model. Duster, which has changed the balance by breaking the ground in the SUV segment since the first day, has also dominated the 4×4 segment with its uninterrupted leadership for the last 10 years. Turkey draws attention as the fourth country with the most Duster sales in the world with 169 thousand units as of the end of August 2022. All What is this data used by the Turkish consumer of Dacia? it shows how much it has been appreciated. The Dacia brand, which renews itself by not giving up its basic philosophy, will continue on its way with sure steps. Our goal in 2023 is to reach a total of half a million sales in the Turkish market, which we entered in 2004.”
