Cryptocurrency Users Targeted: Experts Warn Against This Attack!

The crypto industry has started to gain momentum again, and this naturally increases the number of people who want to target crypto investors.

Intel471 A research and published report by A.Ş. also reveals a recent popular attack.

2FA Bot Targets Investors

Cybercriminals use bots purchased on Telegram directly on crypto money investors and seize the passwords of their crypto money accounts.

Looking at the report published by Intel471, “One Time Password (OTP)” It is seen that the bots named are very popular and already provide serious fund income among the users. It is known that this pays off after a successful attack.

A software called “BloodOTPbot” can be sold for $300 per month. Fraudsters can also access more phishing tools by paying an extra $20 or $100, and can also hijack individuals’ social media accounts. It is reported that attackers also seized Coinbase accounts in this way.

To do this, the attackers need to collect personal information about the target, and once these are complete, this bot is used only to learn the 2FA code. So even those who use 2FA against the bot in question may not be safe.

According to the information reported by CNBC, Dr Anders Agpar fell victim to this and lost access to his 2FA codes after he received a “call similar to an official call”. It was emphasized that the call in question was related to his Coinbase account, and while the phone call was in progress, his $ 106,000 BTC was stolen.

The most logical move to be made against them would be knowing that the exchanges will not communicate in any way other than their official channels and not responding to them.
