The House of Representatives Agriculture Committee will hold a session tomorrow on the future of digital assets and the need for clarity and harmony in spot markets.
The session is the world’s largest Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cryptocurrency It will come a day after the exchange sued Binance and its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, for allegedly violating securities laws by offering unregistered digital asset securities products to US investors.
The session will feature two witness panels, including current and former chairmen of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which oversees the derivatives markets and has jurisdiction over certain aspects of digital assets.
The session will take place tomorrow at 17:00 Turkish time.
Tomorrow’s Cryptocurrency Session Will Attend CFTC Chairman Competing with SEC for Oversight of the Crypto Industry
CFTC chairman Rostin Behnam will testify at the first panel, followed by former CFTC chairman Chris Giancarlo, known as the “Crypto Father” for his advocacy of innovation and regulation in the crypto space.
The second panel will also include representatives from Robinhood, Coinbase, and FIAconnect, a trade association for the futures industry, as well as Dan Berkovitz, another former CFTC commissioner who recently joined the SEC as general counsel.
The House of Representatives Agriculture Committee said in a statement that current digital asset regulations limit innovation and consumer protection and aim to bring clarity and harmony to this dynamic space.

The session is expected to cover topics such as the definition and classification of digital assets, the regulatory framework and oversight of spot markets, the role and responsibilities of federal and state regulators, and challenges and opportunities for innovation and growth in the digital asset sector.
