Crypto Comment from Apple Co-Founder: “These Altcoin Projects Are Heist!”

  • Although Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak constantly praises Bitcoin, he is generally skeptical of cryptocurrencies.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, in a recent interview with Business Insider, gave specifics to Bitcoin (BTC) and described the largest cryptocurrency as “pure gold math.”

Despite saying this, the legendary electronics engineer and computer programmer made no secret that he has a significantly negative view of the cryptocurrency industry as a whole. Also in the above-mentioned interview, Wozniak pointed out the large number of new cryptocurrencies being created every day, claiming that many cryptocurrency projects are “robbery.”

Wozniak added that token creators are trying to lure buyers with confirming statements from celebrities:

“There are currently a lot of cryptocurrencies emerging from the ground up; There are many ways for everyone to create a new one and they all have a famous star. It seems that these people are just raising large sums of money from people who want to invest in projects at their earliest stages, when they are worth a penny.”

At the same time, he urged investors to be optimistic about the start-ups’ founders, as spotting another Apple is a challenge:

“This project may be another Apple and you may not be seeing it yet. There is no way to calculate this in a spreadsheet.”

Wozniak, who made headlines in the summer, also called Bitcoin “the most amazing mathematical miracle” in an interview with Forbes Mexico, but in October he predicted that governments would eventually ban Bitcoin:

“The problem is that the government will never let it get out of their control. If it got to a point where everything is done in crypto, without going through governments for surveillance and taxation…governments would never allow it.”
