Fake product sales on e-commerce sites will be blocked

According to TRT Haber, the Ministry of Commerce is preparing to introduce a new regulation to the e-commerce sector, which has grown steadily in recent years and has peaked in the coronavirus pandemic. While it is underlined that the rapid rise brings with it some problems, various steps are expected to be taken in order to prevent unfair competition and monopolization.

One of the most striking changes with the new regulation will be in the sale of fake products. Within the scope of securing the rights of the sellers, the Ministry of Commerce will prevent the sale of counterfeit products and illegal content there.

From now on, sellers will not be forced to operate on only one e-commerce site. Apart from this, it cannot be forced to buy goods or services from certain people. Payments to vendors will now be made in less time. Unfair clauses shall not be included in the contracts between e-commerce companies and sellers, and unilateral changes shall not be made. Finally, let us state that sellers will have the opportunity to transfer their data to other sites whenever they wish.
