During the 2016-2023 period, access blocking measures were implemented for 227 thousand 630 sites that were found to be operating without permission and offering illegal games of chance, betting or gambling in the virtual environment. However, the individuals and organized crime organizations operating these websites, the vast majority of which broadcast from abroad, have reactivated the sites for which measures have been taken by adding letters, numbers, digits, or signs to the beginning, end, or any part of the existing address of the domain name, and after a very short time, It was observed that they continued their criminal activities with new names and URL addresses.

In this regard, a criminal complaint was filed by the National Lottery Administration to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding 1,212 websites that continued to operate under different names even though they were detected to be offering gambling and betting in the virtual environment between 2016 and 2023 and were reported to the Information Technologies and Communication Authority and access was blocked.

It was understood that 3 of them were broadcasting from Turkey, 486 from the USA, 403 from Armenia, 156 from the Netherlands, 50 from Germany, 34 from Taiwan and the others from 22 different countries.
