Neşet Ertaş, one of Turkey’s most important folk music artists, passed away in 2012. Like many artists who are written in the history of music and in the minds of the listeners, it was a question of making a biographical film of him. However, there were some legal obstacles in front of this. Until now.
Producer Mustafa Uslu had previously rolled up his sleeves with director Arif Sorak to shoot a biopic about Neşet Ertaş’s life. However, Neşet Ertaş’s children opposed this work and filed a lawsuit against the production. Written by Erol Parlak and published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2019. The book ‘Garip Bülbül Neşet Ertaş: His Life, Art and Works’was describing the life of Neşet Ertaş in detail. Producer Mustafa Uslu, on the other hand, promoted the movie ‘Garip Bülbül Neşet Ertaş’, the subject of which was adapted from this book, with the participation of the director and actors, last August.

In addition, on September 25, 2022, the anniversary of Neşet Ertaş’s death, we will hold a large-scale commemoration ceremony at Kırşehir Stadium with the participation of folk poets. In 2023, we will open a Neşet Ertaş Music and Fine Arts High School in Kırşehir.“
