Corporate bonds send warning signals for the financial markets

Frankfurt Fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine are dividing bond markets. In the past few days, investors have once again secured their money somewhat more with government bonds from the USA and Germany. On Tuesday, however, prices fell again somewhat and, in return, yields rose again slightly. The much-noticed yields on American and German government bonds were only slightly below their recent multi-year highs at 1.96 and 0.26 percent respectively.

Above all, however, there is a clearer flight out of corporate bonds. The risk premiums referred to as spreads, i.e. the difference in yields compared to government bonds, have risen significantly.
