The Competition Authority, which strives to protect the interests of consumers, has presented us with an interesting career opportunity. Accordingly, the institution will recruit 25 talented people who specialize in general, economics and informatics fields to serve as Assistant Competition Experts.

Competition Assistant Expertsworks to ensure and protect free market conditions and fair trade. They strive to ensure that citizens have access to better quality products and services at lower prices by fighting against monopolies and cartels. They also make important decisions about global players and technology giants.

The positions that Competition Assistant Expert candidates will join are as follows;

  • General Staff (12 people): Successfully complete four-year education programs from the Faculties of Economics, Political Sciences, Business Administration, Economics and Administrative Sciences or Business and Industrial Engineering departments.
  • Economics Staff (10 people): Graduating from Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics, Statistics, Statistics and Computer departments or from educational institutions at home or abroad whose equivalence is accepted by the Council of Higher Education.
  • IT Staff (3 people): Graduating from technology-oriented departments such as Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, as well as Forensic Informatics, Software, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, or from educational institutions at home or abroad whose equivalence is accepted by the Council of Higher Education.

The conditions that candidates who will take the exam must meet are listed as follows;

  • They must meet the general conditions set out in Article 48 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657.
  • Graduates from the faculties and departments listed in subparagraph (a) of the first paragraph of Article 35 of Law No. 4054, and from the above-mentioned higher education institutions listed in Article 7 of the Competition Authority Professional Personnel Regulation, or from educational institutions at home or abroad whose equivalence is accepted by the Council of Higher Education.
  • They must not be over 35 years old as of the first day of January of the year in which the exam is held.
  • They must not have a disease that may prevent them from performing their duties continuously.
  • From 2022 – 2023 Public Personnel Selection Exams:
    • Competition Assistant Expert (General): They must get at least 80 points from any of the KPSS P14, KPSS P15, KPSS P16, KPSS P24, KPSS P25, KPSS P26, KPSS P27, KPSS P28, KPSS P31 or KPSS P36 score types and be among the 240 applicants with the highest scores.
    • Competition Assistant Expert (Economics): They must get at least 80 points from any of the score types, KPSS P1, KPSS P2, KPSS P12, KPSS13, KPSS P14, KPSS15 or KPSS16, and be among the 200 people with the highest scores among the applicants.
    • Competition Assistant Expert (Informatics): They must get at least 80 points from the KPSS P1 or KPSS P2 score type and be among the 60 people with the highest scores among the applicants.

  • Economy: Microeconomics, macroeconomics, industrial economics, econometrics, statistics.
  • Business:
    • General group: Business economics, business management, accounting, finance, production, marketing.
    • Economics group: Business economics, business management, accounting, finance.
  • Informatics: Software, network, cyber security, computer forensics, databases and information systems, IT law.
  • Foreign language: English, French or German.

Those who get an average of at least 70 points out of 100 in general culture, general ability and field knowledge will be considered successful. In addition, candidates four times the number of positions to be appointed will be called for an oral examination.
