Companies want 3G rules for the office

3G rules

Although the 3G rule applies in large parts of public life, for example when going to restaurants or the cinema, companies are not authorized to query confidential health data such as the vaccination status of their employees.

Berlin, Düsseldorf In view of the skyrocketing number of corona infections, the first companies in Germany are calling on politicians to introduce a statutory 3G rule for offices and production halls as well. This means that only those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered or those who have tested negative would have access to companies. This is the result of a Handelsblatt survey among selected Dax companies and large family businesses.

The insurance company Allianz, for example, reports: “Clear legal requirements from the legislature would be very helpful.” Taking vaccinations into account when protecting against infection should have a positive effect on infection during the cold season. 3G would also be the “preferred solution” for the Vonovia real estate group, but the legal framework made the introduction difficult.

Although the 3G rule applies in large parts of public life, for example when going to restaurants or the cinema, companies are not authorized to query confidential health data such as the vaccination status of their employees. This makes it more difficult for companies to introduce 3G or even 2G regulations.
