Frankfurt Now it’s official: Commerzbank will be the successor to the industrial gases group Linde in the leading German index Dax. Deutsche Börse announced this on Friday evening after the US stock market closed. The change will be implemented on February 27th.

For Commerzbank, the return to the first German stock exchange league after four and a half years is a prestigious success. After years of sluggishness, the Frankfurt institute has again made billions in profits in 2022 and is now hoping for further momentum from the Dax entry.

The unscheduled change takes place because Linde withdraws from the German stock market in March and is then only listed on Wall Street. The Dax loses its most valuable member. Linde recently had a total market value of 148 billion euros, Commerzbank comes to 14 billion euros.
