Cryptocurrency data provider CoinMarketCap (CMC), Ripple’s (XRP) It caused great controversy after it claimed that it was not a real cryptocurrency.
CoinMarketCap shared an image of a game that requires people to find the fraudster among themselves in its tweet, and it is in the image. Bitcoin, BNB, Ethereum, XRP and other altcoins existed.
CMC asked its followers to find the ‘fake’ among these cryptocurrencies.

Although the controversial Tweet has now been deleted, Twitter users have had various discussions on the subject.
CMC later tweeted that the ‘fraudulent’ is XRP because it is managed and controlled by a central authority, so it does not have real cryptocurrency properties.
The data provider went on to say in a controversial tweet that all other cryptocurrencies are decentralized and are indeed ‘people’s cryptocurrencies’.
XRP Community Reacts to CoinMarketCap
These statements shared from the official Twitter account of the data provider drew reaction from XRP supporters and it was claimed that CMC was biased.
Some users recalled that in early 2018, CoinMarketCap deleted XRP’s volume statistics for the Korean market without any warning. Users claimed that CMC secretly caused FUD.
The platform issued an apology message after deleting his controversial tweet.
CMC said that an employee who just joined their team did not know the policy they implemented against cryptocurrency projects, which is why such a mistake occurred.
