New York, Dusseldorf At Datadog it looks like a start-up. There are smoothies in the refrigerators, bowls of fruit on the tables, and the mascot, a dog, is stuck on every coffee cup. Only the view over New York to the Statue of Liberty tells the visitor that he is here on the 45th floor of the “New York Times” skyscraper in the headquarters of a billion-dollar corporation.
Company boss Olivier Pomel has a clear view of his business: “Cloud is the topic of the future.” But he warns: “Complexity is exploding on all fronts.” This not only leads to inefficiencies, but also to security risks in the worst case. Datadog makes its money by cleaning up the resulting chaos for its customers.
