Christian Sievers: He will succeed Claus Kleber on ZDF “heute journal” TV

He becomes the new number one in the ZDF “heute journal”: Christian Sievers (52) succeeds chief presenter Claus Kleber (66).

What has already become apparent in the past few weeks has now been confirmed by ZDF.

Sievers will follow in Kleber’s news footsteps from January 2022. News expert Christian Sievers has so far been the face of the 7pm “Today” edition and has appeared several times in the evening edition.

Transfer day: Sievers will be seen for the last time in the early evening on September 30th. After 18 years, Kleber says “goodbye” on December 30th.

Before his time in the news broadcasts, Sievers was a live reporter around the world, reporting on the tsunami in Asia (2004) and the terrorist attacks on September 11th.

Who will take on Sievers’ role at 7 p.m.?

Mitri Sirin (50) joined ZDF in 2009, where she worked for the morning magazine and most recently for the midday magazine. He gets on the main news show at 7 p.m. on October 11th.
