Berlin China has massively relaxed its strict corona rules and thus triggered euphoria about the newly won freedoms. But the joy is increasingly mixed with uncertainty: how aggressively will the plague spread? And will the care in the clinics collapse?
In fact, the virus seems to be spreading rapidly, and in the meantime everyone in the big cities knows someone who has been infected. The National Health Commission only spoke of around 16,800 new infections on Friday – but the number of unreported cases is likely to be significantly higher.
Worried about the disease, many have bought medicines such as antipyretics and other medicinal products to combat cold symptoms in the past few days. Chinese state media said that the rapidly increasing demand had tightened supply and pushed up prices.
