ChatGPT With NPCs Mode Arrived in Skyrim VR

A mod has been developed in Skyrim VR that allows you to have unlimited and dynamic chats with NPCs. Thanks to this mod, NPCs can tell you anecdotes, answer your questions and remember their experiences with you.

Skyrim VR, the virtual reality version of Bethesda’s popular RPG game, offers a different experience to explore the game’s world and embark on adventures. However, when you want to talk to the characters due to the age of the game, your options are quite limited. What the characters will tell you expires after a while and you can only ask questions that you can choose from the menu in front of you.

What about an unlimited number of characters? could present dynamically generated anecdotes? Or if you could ask questions that aren’t on the menu? Or if the characters could remember their experiences with you in the game and talk about them at length? Art From The Machine, a modder looking for answers to these questions, is developing just such a mod for Skyrim VR.

How does the mod work?

The mod is OpenAI’s major language model Generates responses to characters using ChatGPT. xVASynth It also provides the voice of the characters with a program called. Whisper It also allows players to speak into their microphones and allow the characters to understand them. It’s a combination of many different systems, and the first results are pretty strange answers. But at the same time, the light is being seen that NPCs equipped with artificial intelligence can create dynamic conversations.

Many different conversations and episodes are shown in the video, but the most interesting one is the conversation with Ulfberth War-Bear, the employee of Warmaiden’s shop in Whiterun. After installing the mod, Ulfberth know the opening and closing times of the shop and it can tell the player and even calculate when the shop will close based on the in-game time.
