Antwerp – Barcelona 3:2

Not a nice evening for Barça star Robert Lewandowski (35)!

After the defeat in the top clash in the Spanish league against Girona (2:4), Barcelona’s next defeat comes against Antwerp in the Champions League. Coach Xavi’s team loses 2:3.

Barcelona got off to a cold start in a game in which nothing was at stake and conceded an early goal from Vermeeren in the second minute (2nd). After a nice pass from Yamal, striker Ferran Torres equalized – 1:1.

After the start of the second half, ex-Bayern star Mark van Bommel’s team annoys Barcelona. After a mistake, Antwerp striker Vincent Janssen takes the lead again (56th).

Lewandowski is substituted in the 72nd minute. A few minutes before the final whistle, Barça equalized through Guiu. But then George Ilenikhena hits back again (90th + 2nd). What a final phase!

The best from Barça’s point of view: The Catalans are in the round of 16 and Antwerp are out.

Red Star Belgrade – Manchester City 2:3

Manchester City wins 3-2 at Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League. The Citizens, who had already qualified for the round of 16 before the game, took their sixth win in the Leipzig group.

Also thanks to two goals from Mika Hamilton and Oscar Bob!

Hamilton takes the lead. Grealish initiates the attack, serving Mattheus Nunes in the center. He passes the ball to young professional Micah Hamilton, who leaves the Belgrade defense standing and shoots the ball into the near corner to make it 1-0 on his debut in the premier class (20).

Curious: The scorer for the 1-0 win, Mika Hamilton, aged 13, was a ball boy against Crystal Palace at Manchester City seven years ago. Pep Guardiola is said to have not moved quickly enough back then.

In the second half, the Norwegian Oscar Bob (20) puts the lid on it – 2-0 (64th). Shortly before the end, things get exciting again. First Inbeom Hwang scores to make it 1:2 – goal (76). Then Kalvin Philips converted a penalty kick (85th) for City before the Red Star went for it again through Katai (90th + 1st). But that’s no use.

Belgrade is eliminated from Europe in fourth place.

Atlético Madrid – Lazio Rome 2-0

In the duel for group victory, Atlético ultimately won the race and went into the round of 16 as group winners. Lazio Rome follows in second place.

Atlético striker Antoine Griezmann scored the decisive goal of the day. Colleague Lino serves the ex-Barça star in the center. He uses the space and makes it 1-0 for Diego Simeone’s team (6th). Shortly before the break, defender Mario Hermoso made it 2-0 (38th). But the VAR conceded the goal again because of Lino’s clear offside position, which obscured the keeper’s view.

In the second half, Samuel Lino added himself to the top scorer list with a volley shot into the corner (51.)

Newcastle – AC Milan 1:2

Milan wins 2-1 in Newcastle and shoots the English out of Europe.

In the exciting Dortmund group, Joelinton took the lead in the middle of the first half (33′). After almost an hour, ex-BVB star Christian Pulisic took advantage of a disorder in the Milan penalty area and made it 1-1 (59th).

Shortly before the end things get really bitter for Newcastle. Samuel Chukwueze (84th) shoots Milan into the Europa League. And the English are out of Europe.

Porto – Donetsk 5:3

Porto celebrated a landslide win and shot their way into the round of 16 with a 5-3 win.

Man of the evening: The Brazilian Galeno takes Porto further with a brace in the heart-stopping final on matchday six of the group stage in the Champions League and opens the Portuguese’s goal gala.

First he gives Porto an early lead, also because Donetsk defends weakly at the back (6th). He then increased the score further with a deflected shot from around 17 meters (43′).

But the equalizer was more curious: the assistant raised the flag in the middle of the Donetsk attack and caused huge confusion. Donetsk says thank you and makes it 1-1 through Danylo Silkan (29th). Despite numerous protests, referee István Kovács awarded the goal.

In the second half, Porto put the lid on things with a goal from Mehdi Taremi (62′). Later, Pepe (75th) and Francisco Conceição (84th) increased the final score to 5:3.
