“Catch up the booster as soon as possible”

Berlin The number of infections with the corona virus is falling, but at a high level. The booster vaccination did not change the fact that it is so high, although there was great hope for it. On the other hand, it is becoming increasingly clear what the actual effect of the booster vaccination is: protection against serious illness and death.

We spoke to the Berlin vaccine researcher Leif Erik Sander about the type and duration of the booster protection, the sense of a fourth vaccination and the probability of contracting the corona virus despite the booster. The Charité professor is a member of the panel of experts that provides the federal government with scientific advice on the corona pandemic.
