Two new RF lenses for mirrorless cameras from Canon

Canon introduced two new telephoto lenses developed for mirrorless cameras: RF 800 mm F5.6L IS USM and RF 1200 mm F8L IS USM.

In the past weeks, it has introduced two new telephoto lenses it has developed for mirrorless cameras: RF 800 mm F5.6L IS USM and RF 1200 mm F8L IS USM. The company wants to become a sought-after name in the mirrorless camera world by further developing its EOS R system cameras and lenses.

With the release of Canon’s EOS R5 and EOS R6 bodies, it gained a lot of momentum in the camera world. The company intends to develop this momentum. Although Canon has not announced a definitive roadmap, we can expect it to put it on this year, assuming it added 8 lenses last year. Two of these are two new telephoto lenses: the RF 800 mm F5.6L IS USM and the RF 1200 mm F8L IS USM, which have already attracted the attention of professionals.

Working together with the powerful image stabilizer, the RF 800mm F5.6L IS USM reduces flicker with up to 4.5 stops and the RF 1200mm F8L IS USM up to 4 stops, producing images with clear details. On the other hand, the RF 800mm F5.6L IS USM, 3.1 kgIt was launched as the lightest and shortest 800mm L-series lens Canon has ever produced.

The video-focused EOS R5C, introduced in January, was also among the company’s popular products. Capable of shooting 8K at up to 60 fps in 12-bit RAW LT format, the camera is capable of shooting at 8K/60 fps indefinitely. In addition, the Camera features Canon’s Dual Pixel autofocus system and object tracking for both stills and video.
